I help immersive and real-time technology companies get their tools adopted — through documentation, training, and prototypes built by someone who ships in the stack.
Real-time and immersive tools are getting more powerful and less learnable at the same time. Studios buy capability they can't onboard, engineering teams ship features nobody can find in the docs, and the gap between “we own this technology” and “our people are productive with it” quietly costs more than the licence did.
That gap is what I work in.
I’m Wendy Lawn — creative technologist, technical educator, and the person behind MsVader Labs. Twenty years across virtual production, immersive media, learning design and technical communication, most recently embedded inside the Product and Engineering Excellence division at Disguise. Certified Disguise trainer. I build in the stack I write about: WebXR, Three.js, Unreal, Notch, Vision Pro.
Track record- Owned the full documentation lifecycle for a global engineering organisation — architecture, standards, audits, consolidation
- Produced network infrastructure and configuration documentation from raw engineering source material
- Designed technical training under MOD defence contracts at Pennant International and Selex (now Leonardo)
- Certified trainer on Disguise — the platform used across broadcast, live events and virtual production worldwide
- Built and shipped SakuraXR, Lost Marbles, Project Stella
Training & enablement
Get your team productive on real-time and virtual production tooling. Onboarding programmes for new hires on stage, upskilling for teams inheriting a system, train-the-trainer so it outlasts the engagement.
Documentation & developer experience
Documentation systems that hold up as the product changes. Information architecture, style guides, structured audits, consolidation of legacy content, and turning raw engineering source material into guides people trust.
Field guides & technical content
The document that makes your tool adoptable. Written by someone who has actually used it, hit the edge cases, and can explain why they matter. Deep technical content that stands up to a practitioner reading it.
Immersive prototyping
Proof-of-concept builds in WebXR, Three.js, Unreal, and Vision Pro. For pitches, funding applications, internal buy-in, or finding out whether the idea survives contact with a headset. See Labs →
